DAVID LOW.

David Low was born in Dunedin, New Zealand on 7 April 1891. Low's first strip was published in Big Budget at the age of eleven. In 1907 he joined the Sketcher and in 1908 became the Spectator's Political Cartoonist.

In1930s Low was a fierce rival of Hitler, and Mussolini, and of the policy of conciliation. possibly his most well-known cartoon creation, "Colonel Blimp", first appeared in the Evening Standard in April 1934, and continued to make puzzled and childlike pronouncements on present actions.
